The goals we set for our students in the Language course are rich and go beyond the limits of formal-basic learning. We aim:
- to the cultivation of reading capacity,
- in the teaching of grammar, in the cultivation of spoken word,
- in the correct writing
- in the production of written speech
- in ways that help the student discover and love the rich world of the Greek language as a whole.
On the occasion of the units we process in the classroom we cultivate and support the goals we set with various actions that work in combination, in order to achieve understanding and deeper cultivation. Students very often read in different ways and on a variety of opportunities.Grammar is very important as it affects the ability to write correctly and the overall quality of speech. This is why it is done in a functional, interpretive and meaningful way.
The spoken word is cultivated at every opportunity such as in presentations of papers throughout the class or to students of other classes, retelling of experiential facts and personal experiences, rendering a summary of a work- literary text, organizing groups of arguments in the classroom (debate) etc.
Proper writing is taught creatively in many ways, doing analysis-etymology of words, painting words but also justifying their writing by revoking basic rules.
The production of written speech aims at the creative practice of the student, the writing of various written texts that vary according to the occasion, the subject, the framework of communication and at the same time are done in such a way as to contribute to the cultivation of imagination, fiction, love for creative writing.
