A day at the museum of Hellenism in Asia Minor "Filio Haidemenou"
What exhibits can a museum next to our school have? This question was posed to the first graders during a tour of the school neighborhood in October.Their question was answered on Tuesday, February 8, when they were at the museum of Hellenism in Asia Minor "Filio Haidemenou". The predictions they had made for a museum with statues, paintings and even dinosaurs fell out. A museum full of objects brought by the refugees from Asia Minor to Greece was presented in front of them.Initially, the students were guided to the site by the museum officials. Our beginners learned about the history of the museum, the daily life of Asia Minor, the difficulties they encountered when they came to Greece, etc. During the tour the children had the opportunity to ask questions, to find familiar exhibits and above all to remember the sufferings that war brings to humanity. One of the many objects that impressed the students was a rug. So the next day, inspired by everything they saw, they created their own special rug.
