Dealing with chess enhances logical thinking and creativity. Our chess players cultivate combined thinking, imagination and strategy . Chess develops competitiveness, perseverance, and concentration. It also exercises the mind and it has been observed that chess players achieve high performance in mathematics and science.The chess course teaches a coach experienced at young ages, who takes care that the first contact with this spiritual game results in the development of a positive attitude towards chess and at the same time the first familiarity with their pawns and movements. Our school in the past has distinguished itself in this field all over Greece.In recent years in our school, the Philadelphia-Halkidona school chess championship has been organized in collaboration with the Philadelphia Chess Club, where we host children chess players from our Municipality and the bordering Municipalities. This event is also the first opportunity for small chess players to compete with their interlocutors.
